About Us
a Beloved Cambodian Dish
Kuy Teav Phnom Penh
Kuy teav Phnom Penh (kuy-TYEW pe-NOM pen) is a traditional Cambodian noodle soup with roots in Teochew Chinese cuisine. In Khmer, kuy teav simply means “noodles,” while Phnom Penh refers to Cambodia’s capital city. Often enjoyed for breakfast, this comforting bowl reflects centuries of cultural exchange between the Teochew people and Cambodians, and today it’s a beloved staple found throughout Southeast Asia.
Who Are We
Our Mission
Heng Seng Noodles was founded to serve soulful Cambodian-Teochew comfort food that celebrates our family roots, preserves authentic flavors, and brings joy to every table. Our menu is a personal reflection of family recipes, childhood memories, and the community we serve.
Where It Started
Our Story
At Heng Seng, our story is rooted in tradition, family, and the comfort of a warm meal shared together. We were inspired by our immigrant parents, who put in their all into Heng Seng Restaurant in South Philadelphia. Their dedication, grit, and love shaped not just a restaurant—but a third place for the community.
This new location is a continuation of that story, opened by the next generation of the Huong family—Sarah, Annie, and Lange. We’re here to honor what our parents built while adding our own flavor, shaped by the experiences and dreams of a new generation. It’s still the food we grew up with, just told through our lens—with the same heart, and a few new stories to share.
